Gracie to join Gibsons outdoor show Aug. 25

Heather Conn will be reading Gracie’s Got a Secret on Aug. 25 in Dougall Park, Gibsons as part of a fun-packed summer fundraiser for West Sechelt Playground.

Besides Heather and the headliner act of Bobs and Lolo, a popular singing group, there will be face painting, balloon animals, hot dogs, popcorn, refreshments, and a bouncy castle.

It’s all part of an effort to raise money to add engaging and accessible equipment to the playground at West Sechelt Elementary School. The proposed project includes replacing the existing gravel with an accessible ground cover. Phase one  alone will cost $130,000; phases two and three involve building new accessible park areas on the school grounds geared toward different ages.

The West Sechelt Playground Enhancement Committee is hosting the event. The cost is $10 for children over the age of one and $15 for adults; the family rate is $45. Tickets are available at the school, on Facebook, and on the website You can also contact Wing at 604-741-0633 for more information.
